The Salar de Chiguana overlooks the Ollagüe volcano and the Tomasamil hill.
The Salar de Chiguana, not far from the border with Chile has a salt base, covered with brownish dust.
It overlooks the Ollagüe volcano and the Tomasamil hill (both almost 6000 meters high) and a good amount of other elevations, but one can identify it by the very straight train tracks crossing the whitish and barren plain. The cargo trains run a couple of times a week between the Avaroa Station (on the border with Chile) and the city of Uyuni.
