Villamontes is a Jungle town, its main attraction is sport fishing that is practiced in the Pilcomayo River during the whole year. Fishing is authorized only with fishhooks. This worthy city is linked to the Chaco War (1932 - 1935). It was the main scenario of the war struggle with Paraguay. The International Fish Festival is celebrated in Villamontes.
