Alcantarí Airport was inaugurated on May 15, 2016.

It is located 30 kilometers south from Sucre, about 50 minutes away by car. The modern airport has a platform of 28000 square meters, a passenger terminal of 5660 square meters, a 3600 meter long, 45 meters wide track and the whole airport is about 345 hectares. The terminal has two floors. Departures are located on the first floor and the administrative offices on the top floor. Unlike the old Sucre airport, this airport can handle night operations.

There are no international flights at this point.

Transportation

The price of passenger transport by taxi to and from Alcantarí airport is Bs 50 (7,20 USD). Minibuses leave from the corner of Av. Gregorio Donoso and Calle Camargo and the cost is set at Bs 8 (1,15 US per person).
