Padilla, Chuquisaca

The traditional Carnival and the archaeological remains of the surrounding areas, make the town of Padilla one of the main tourist attractions of Chuquisaca.

According to legend and old stories, in the area there used to be large lake that the Spanish had drained in an effort to find gold and possible hidden treasures. At the "Cruz" (Cross) of the Mission, is the entrance of a long tunnel.
