Departure: December 31st
La Paz - Lake Titicaca - Islas del Lago Menor - Chua - Overnight
Pick up Hotel La Paz: 09:00 am. (Subject to confirmation)
We will depart from La Paz to go by land to the shore of the Minor part of Lake Titicaca or "Wiñay Marca", where we will board the catamaran.
We will begin navigation on the majestic Lake Titicaca while enjoying a delicious snack on board.
We will transfer to typical boats of the area to row between the totora reeds and visit the islands of Pariti, Kalauta and Patapatani, located on the banks of the Minor Lake "Wiñay Marca". These communities have developed cultural tourism.
In this tour, we can interact with the villagers to get to know their customs and the Aymara way of life. In addition, these towns have the Patapatani museum that exhibits Tani, the best preserved mummy in the Andes; and that of Pariti, which protects several archaeological objects of the Tiwanakota and Inca cultures. In Patapatani we will enjoy an Apthapi, Andean lunch specially prepared for us.
In the afternoon we will return to the catamaran and sail to the port of Chua where we will move to a typical house where a Yatiri lives, who will make us participate in a cleansing ceremony of the bad energies of the Old Year and give Andean blessings for the New Year.
Then we will return to Chua to warm up around a bonfire and drink a delicious punch while we enjoy a small folkloric show presented by the local community. We will board the catamaran, rest and have time to prepare for the New Year's dinner, toast at midnight and dance party. We will have several surprises to receive 2019.
Overnight aboard the catamaran in double cabins with heating, hot water, private bathroom and exterior view.
Chua - Copacabana - Isla del Sol (South) - Inti Wata Cultural Complex - Lake Titicaca - La Paz
We will sail to Copacabana while enjoying a delicious breakfast on board. We will make a brief visit to the Sanctuary of Copacabana and then we will embark again to sail towards Isla del Sol, cradle of the Inca Empire. On this legendary island you can visit the Garden, the Stairs and the Fountain of the Inca.
Later, the itinerary includes a visit to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex, Bolivia's main private tourist attraction, including the Ekako underground museum, the traditional medicine and construction centers of totora rafts, the Pachamama terraces of Inca agriculture, a craft center, the Intica refuge and the largest variety of Andean camelids located at the "Manco Kapac" viewpoint.
The visit to the Inti Wata Complex also includes the incredible opportunity to sail aboard an immense raft made of Totora reed and to make a panoramic visit to the Inca palace of Pilkokaina.
